Andrew Otterburn

A chartered accountant and management consultant with twenty years experience advising solicitors, Andrew Otterburn has advised around 250 law firms and barristers chambers in the UK and Ireland.

He specialises in:

Over the last twenty five years he has advised approximately 250 clients on a wide range of issues. Most of the clients have been firms based in the UK and Ireland, but they have also included firms in Lisbon, The Hague and the Channel Islands. He launched my own consultancy around 15 years ago, prior to which he was with Grant Thornton, where he started their law firm consultancy.

He has written several books including “Profitability and Law Firm Management” (Law Society 2007) and “From Recession to Upturn – financial management and strategy for law firms” (Law Society 2009). He co-authors of the Law Society of Scotland’s annual Survey of Law firms in Scotland.

He speaks at a number of seminars and conferences each year. Recent seminars were held in Brussels, Dublin, Lisbon and London. Recent conferences include the tri-annual conference of the Orde Van Vlaamse Bailes in Brussels, the Lawnet Conference in London, and the State Capital Group International Conference in Dublin, where I was keynote speaker. He has chaired the LMS Finance and Business Conference in London for the last six years.
